According to ComputerWorld, Microsoft is planning to release the Release Candidate of Windows 7 to the general public on May 5. Release Candidates are generally feature complete and stable, and suggest that the final version will be available soon.

Windows 7 is officially scheduled for release early next year, but now some analysts are suggesting Microsoft may release it as early as September or October.
