How to automatically start a program when you turn on your computer
Posted by Mysti under IT InformationIf there’s a program you use every time you turn on your computer e.g. Outlook, then you might want save yourself some time and set your computer to automatically start that program when you turn it on.
If you are running Window XP or Vista here’s how you can do it.
- Go to Start, All Programs and then find the program you would like to start up automatically e.g. Microsoft Office Outlook
- Right click on the program and select Copy.
- Now go to Start, All Programs, right click on the Startup folder, and select Explore.
- In the window that opens on the Edit menu select Paste (If you are using Windows Vista you will instead need to go to Organise and then Paste)
From now on whenever you turn on your computer your chosen program will start up automatically.
